In January of 2019, the Zack Price and his wife Erika created the Pennies for Pickles campaign at Chick-fil-A Grapevine Hwy & Mid-cities Blvd. Chick-fil-A’s founder Truett Cathy invented the Original Chicken Sandwich recipe including two “crucial” pickles as ingredients. At Chick-fil-A Grapevine Hwy & Mid-cities Blvd our Operator Zack Price carried Truett’s vision for crucial pickles to have further impact.

“Pennies for Pickles is a pretty simple concept. We donate one penny per pickle sold in our restaurant. There are two pickles on each sandwich so every sandwich served and enjoyed in our restaurant is making a difference.” – Zack Price

Pennies for Pickles partnered with OneWorld Health to provide healthcare for individuals in Uganda and Nicaragua. OneWorld Health builds healthcare facilities that provide a full scope of medical services and are designed to be affordable and accessible. Best of all, the medical centers are designed to be 100% operational and self-sufficient in 18-24 months.

Thus far in 2019, Pennies for Pickles through Chick-fil-A Grapevine Hwy & Mid-cities Blvd has provided healthcare to 822 people that otherwise would have gone untreated.

“Our team members know that with each sandwich they serve not only is a guest enjoying a delicious meal but someone’s illnesses are being treated. Our work has such a deeper purpose but it all happens by providing delicious food.”
